This just in from Summit Entertainment:

Responding to the fans of THE TWILIGHT SAGA, Summit Entertainment announced today that it will re-release TWILIGHT, the first film in the franchise, at select theatres nationwide on November 19th, a day before the highly anticipated release of the movie’s sequel, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON. Despite the first film already being on DVD, fans across the nation have been calling out to see the film once again on the big screen and the studio is honoring their request.

Summit is working with exhibitors to screen TWILIGHT one night only with screenings in the evening just before THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON arrives in theatres. Select theatres will offer tickets at a reduced price.

More after the jump!

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON directed by Chris Weitz and starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner will be released November 20, 2009. In the film, the romance between mortal and vampire soars to a new level as Bella Swan (Stewart) delves deeper into the mysteries of the supernatural world she yearns to become part of—only to find herself in greater peril than ever before. Following Edward Cullen’s (Pattinson) departure from Forks, Washington, Bella discovers his image comes to her whenever she puts herself in jeopardy. In time Bella’s frozen heart is gradually thawed by her budding relationship with Jacob Black (Lautner) who has a supernatural secret of his own.

The TWILIGHT film series tells the story of 17-year-old Bella Swan who moves to the small town of Forks, Washington to live with her father, and becomes drawn to Edward Cullen, a pale, mysterious classmate who seems determined to push her away. But neither can deny the attraction that pulls them together…even when Edward confides that he and his family are vampires. The action-packed, modern day vampire love story TWILIGHT, the first film in the series, was released in theatres on November 21, 2008 to a blockbuster reception. The second installment of the film franchise, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, will be released November 20, 2009. The third film in the franchise, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE is due in theaters on June 30, 2010.

  1. My friend and I were sooooo excited when we found out yesterday that our theatre is going to do a 9pm Nov. 19th showing of Twilight. But when my friend went to get out tickets, she was told that even though the Twilight movie will be shown in the same exact theatre that we have our New Moon tickets for, we will have to exit the theatre and go to the back of the line waiting to get into the theatre for New Moon…….which sucks because we’re not going to go to the back of that insane line and get no seats together. So we just didn’t buy the tickets, because that’s ridiculous. We’re just going to watch Twilight on her laptop with all the other twihards in line…maybe play some Twilight Scene It 😉 Stupid Regal.

  2. Is there going to be a list of theatres that are showing Twilight? I never got to see it in the theatre and I don’t want to miss this chance!

    • Never mind. If it’s only Regal cinemas that are showing Twilight – that’s not where I was going to see New Moon. Hmmm…maybe I will go see Twilight at 9 pm on the 19th and go to a matinee to see New Moon on the 20th. Wait! Rob will be on Ellen that afternoon. What to do, what to do…
